THS has purchased a "Tournament Cancellation Insurance" policy from Lloyd's of London, that protects you and/or your team from hotel cancellation charges in the case the tournament is canceled. The policy will pay 100% of the minimum room night requirement (outlined as Minimum Length of Stay in the team contract) & tax charges to the hotel for all hotel bookings for the tournament that are made through THS.
In the case the tournament is canceled, THS will work directly with the insurance company and the hotel in which you were booked, to ensure that the hotel charges are paid. Please note: the process of issuing refunds is not immediate. Claims are paid out in a 4-5 month time frame. THS will ask each attendee to submit the credit card statements or hotel bills if applicable from each claimant, and THS will then submit the claim to the insurance company. The insurance company then processes the claim and issues one check to THS. We then issue reimbursement to each team/individual that submitted a claim.
Note: cancellation insurance does not apply if you choose to stay in the hotel after the tournament is canceled. THS will not reimburse those charges. The insurance also does not apply if the tournament is canceled due to lack teams/participants applying to the tournament, or if a portion of the tournament cancels (like a field location change or an elimination of an age group). The entire tournament must be canceled.
